My name is Liz Stahl, and I am a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from James Madison University and my Master of Social Work from Fairfield University. My clinical experience includes working in school-based special education settings and across intensive outpatient (IOP), partial hospitalization (PHP), and residential levels of care, with a focus on eating disorder treatment.
I am passionate about supporting children, adolescents, and young adults as they navigate life's challenges, work through difficult experiences, and develop the tools and confidence to move forward. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic space where clients feel understood, empowered, and encouraged to grow. My approach is trauma-informed and strengths-based, grounded in my belief in the importance of understanding the connection between thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and the body. I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities, including somatic practices, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I also value family collaboration as an important part of the therapeutic process and enjoy helping clients build self-awareness, strengthen coping skills, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
In addition to my clinical training, I am a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, which deepens my appreciation for the mind-body connection and the role of mindfulness in emotional well-being. I also have specialized training in multidisciplinary care for eating disorders, EMDR, mindfulness, and mindful eating.
Outside of work, I enjoy exploring creative outlets, trying new activities, and finding new ways to express myself creatively. I also love spending time in the kitchen experimenting with recipes, especially when garlic is involved!
