Aaliyah is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work from Southern Connecticut State University, as well as a Master’s degree from Southern Connecticut State University, where she was honored to receive the Social Justice Advocate Award after completing her program. Her social work experience spans a variety of populations and settings, including individuals on the autism spectrum, children and youth experiencing social, behavioral, or developmental challenges, disadvantaged and at-risk youth, and older adults.

She specializes in working with children and individuals on the autism spectrum, as well as those navigating learning, behavioral, emotional, or developmental challenges. Her approach is grounded in trauma-informed, client-centered, and strength-based care, with a particular focus on mood and behavior regulation. She believes that effective therapy begins with creating a space where people feel safe, understood, accepted, and free to be their most authentic selves. One of the qualities she values most in her work is her ability to create an environment where people feel seen without judgment.

She believes therapy is not about “saving” someone; rather, it is about walking alongside them, helping them recognize their own strengths, develop the tools they need, and ultimately support themselves. She strives to make therapy a collaborative process between the individual and therapist, using strength-based interventions, ongoing support, and appropriate guidance to help clients navigate challenges and create meaningful change.

Outside of her work, she has a deep love for music in all of its forms. She enjoys playing piano, singing, and recording music. She also loves roller skating and knitting. And, perhaps most importantly, she is completely obsessed with her cat, Ruben Kitty Scott.
